We went to my parents' house for Thanksgiving, and while we were there my dad had a craft for my daughters to help with. My dad painted the snowman "bodies" and had my daughters add the faces and Frosty name.
I wasn't part of the crafting, so I don't have a step-by-step tutorial, but I can tell you how they were made. It was a great idea, dad!
1 - 4" to 3" galvanized duct reducer, this is one piece of metal with two different size ends (body)
8 - 3/8" brown or black felt pads (eyes and mouth)
Gorilla glue or E6000 glue, craft glue may work
1 - plastic wire connector (nose)
labels or print out on paper (the Frosty name)
black spray paint (used glossy finish here)
white spray paint (used matte finish here)
red spray paint (used glossy finish here)
First you need to tape off the duct reducer with the painter's tape and spray paint the colors as shown above. Black being on the 3" end, white in the middle, and red on the 4" end. You will probably want to spray each color with two coats, letting each color dry in between.
When the snowman body is completely dry, glue on the felt pads to create eyes and a mouth. Glue on the orange plastic wire connector for the nose, and glue on the label or paper Frosty for the name.
These are perfect for gift giving this holiday season! Have fun making them!
